Time appears to stand still at Cannonsburgh, Murfreesboro’s pioneer village, which recently celebrated 50 years since its creation in 1976. Tennessee history from the 1830s through the 1930s is captured here in buildings relocated from the area.
But a more modern bluegrass band took the stage at the June 26 event as free food and tours of the historic buildings were offered.
During the Bicentennial of the United States, historic buildings from all over the area were moved to the current location at 312 South Front St. in Murfreesboro, to remember local history from the 1800s to 1940s, according to Cannonsburgh Village Facility Coordinator Mary Beth Nevills…
