ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester Regional Health is changing how it handles test results that show cannabis use after a News10NBC investigation found patients’ medical records were labeled with “illicit drug detected.”
How half a gummy turned into “illicit drug”
Lynn Persi ate half a gummy the night before a medical test in June. When her urine sample came back positive for marijuana, her medical records showed “illicit drug detected.”
“For that cannabis to show up as an illicit drug kind of threw me off,” Persi said.
