4 business associates in Twin Cities metro charged with multiple tax crimes

The Minnesota Department of Revenue announced that four people are being charged with multiple crimes for allegedly failing to pay taxes for years.

According to the department, the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office has charged the following people for felony tax crimes:

  • Ali Farah Egal: seven felony counts of filing false or fraudulent individual income tax returns
  • Fardous Jama Egal: seven felony counts of filing false or fraudulent individual income tax returns
  • Abdirisak Abdirahman Abdulle: 10 felony counts of filing false or fraudulent individual income tax returns
  • Samsam Gatah: two felony counts of filing false or fraudulent individual income tax returns

Ali and Fardous Egal are married to one another, as is Abdulle to Gatah. Ali and Abdulle are business partners, according to charging documents, at Egal Properties LLC.

Investigators claim that Egal Properties LLC did not file tax returns or report any income from 2019-2024, despite more than $10 million allegedly being sent through the company’s bank accounts in that time…
