SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — Happy Tuesday, Utah! Our Tuesday afternoon will feature a mix of clouds and sunshine and continued hot temperatures.
This week: Scattered showers and storms
Scattered showers and storms will develop during the afternoon and evening hours across portions of Utah. Some of these storms will be capable of producing areas of localized heavy rain, lightning, and gusty winds.
The Monsoon flow will continue to build moving into the latter half of the work week. This will continue daily chances for scattered showers and storms to develop. These storms will each be capable of producing localized heavy rain, a flash flood risk, frequent lightning, and some gusty winds.

The coverage and intensity should increase across the state through the end of the work week. The storms will continue to produce downpours, lightning, and gusty winds. The threat for flash flooding across southern Utah will become more elevated through the end of the week.
Rainfall amounts will vary widely, depending on storm development and tracks each day, but generally areas south of I-70 and east of I-15 have the best chance for picking up more substantial 0.50″+ average amounts. Meanwhile, the rest of Utah could pick up .10″ up to .50″ on average through the end of the week.

Due to the clouds and extra moisture, we should see temperatures slowly trend a bit lower each day with daytime highs by the end of the week mostly in the upper 90s across northern Utah and only near 100° near St. George…
