Hotel Aiken project set to begin construction as businesses soon to be displaced

AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) – The city of Aiken says construction and renovation on the Hotel Aiken project will begin next month, following five years of delays.

The Design Review Board approved Oliver Hospitality Group’s redesign plans last week. The plans call for a hotel, restaurant, and parking garage to be built along Laurens and Richland streets in downtown Aiken.

Businesses ordered to vacate
