First Alert Weather Days: Multiple rounds of storms Friday through Sunday

CINCINNATI (WXIX) – Multiple rounds of thunderstorms will move through the Tri-State from Friday through early Sunday, prompting First Alert Weather Days for all three days.

Saturday brings the strongest storm potential

Saturday is shaping up to be the most impactful day of the three-day stretch. The Storm Prediction Center has placed the Tri-State under a Slight Risk for severe storms — a Level 2 out of 5 on their scale. This means conditions are favorable for severe weather development.

Damaging winds will be the primary threat with Saturday’s storms. However, localized flooding and frequent lightning are also possible as storms move through the area. Residents should have a way to receive weather alerts and know where to take shelter if severe weather approaches.

Timing and what to expect

Friday: Thunderstorms will develop later in the day and continue into the evening. Most of the day will remain dry, so outdoor plans can proceed as scheduled. Monitor conditions as the afternoon progresses.

Saturday: This is the day to stay most alert. Multiple rounds of storms are expected throughout the day and into the evening. Damaging winds will be the primary concern, but all severe weather threats—including hail, flooding, and lightning—are possible. Keep weather updates handy and avoid outdoor activities during active storm times.

Early Sunday: Storms will gradually wind down late Saturday night into early Sunday morning. A few showers or storms may linger, mainly south of downtown, but most neighborhoods will dry out. Temperatures will return closer to seasonal averages as the system moves out…
