Crews control house fire in Midvale, significant damage caused to backyard and kitchen

MIDVALE, Utah (ABC4) — Crews got a house fire in Midvale under control after it caused significant damage to the backyard and back of the home.

The fire was located near 7500 South Birch Street, close to State Street. According to Unified Fire Authority, it was a single home fire, and there was heavy fire involvement in the backyard and attic. The fire is under control, but crews are going to stay on scene to take care of any hot spots that pop up.

7500 South is closed from State Street to 100 West for firefighter operations. At 4 p.m., Unified Fire Authority said that it expects crews to remain on scene for another hour.
