SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – A Springfield father is mourning the loss of his 5-year-old son after he drowned at the pool at Bennett Spring Campground.
Lebanon Police said the 911 call came in just before 7 p.m. Sunday. When emergency crews arrived, two adults were already performing CPR on the child, identified as Colton Alverson. He was taken to a Kansas City hospital, where he died. Investigators are continuing to work to determine exactly what happened.
Family remembers Colton
Colton’s father, Steven Alverson, described his son as a child who was always getting into a little mischief.
“Colton was always a happy little man,” Steven said. “He loved going to school. He loved learning. He was never sad.”…
