LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – The Air Quality Alert for our area will expire at midnight tonight, all thanks to Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups air quality from wildfire smoke up north.
Expect partly cloudy skies overnight with muggy lows in the 70s by Tuesday morning. Tuesday is a WAVE Weather Alert Day due to severe storms, starting as early as 10AM northeast of Louisville. Then, between 2-5PM clusters of storms will develop along and south of I-64. Damaging winds, hail, and isolated tornadoes are possible. By 10PM Tuesday night the severe weather threat is over as storms exit to our south.
It will be a little bit cooler Tuesday night as the cold front moves through, but it will take some time for the cooler, drier air to make its presence known. Wednesday is a drier, less-humid day behind the cold front with highs in the lower 80s.
