Buffalo man accused in West Side shooting

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Buffalo man is facing several charges following a shooting on July 13 on the city’s West Side.

A man who was shot in the wrist arrived around 10 p.m. on July 13 at Sisters of Charity Hospital, officials said. He was then taken to the Erie County Medical Center. Buffalo police identified a scene at Hampshire Street and West Ferry Street, where multiple storefronts had also been struck.

Israel DeJesus, 30, was arrested on Monday and is facing the following charges:

  • First-degree assault
  • Second-degree criminal possession of a weapon
  • First-degree reckless endangerment
  • Third-degree criminal mischief
