Two people face more than 100 counts of fraud each after they were arrested in Livingston Parish with more than $40,000 worth of stolen gift cards, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
The Amazon and Apple gift cards were obtained as part of a deliberate scheme, according to the Sheriff’s Office. In the racket, individuals alter gift cards in stores and retrieve the unique codes; when unsuspecting customers buy the cards, the money added goes to the scammer.
