SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – The Salvation Army in Springfield distributed free box fans Tuesday to residents of Greene and Christian counties as summer temperatures continue to climb.
Organizers said fans can be a lifesaver for seniors, young children, and anyone without air conditioning.
“We are definitely still taking box fan donations, so if anyone would like to bring a box fan or fans here to our location we’d be glad to take those and be able to distribute those to folks in need,” said Hollee Ellis, development director for the Salvation Army in Springfield. “You can always give a cash donation to our website or by bringing it here to the corps. We will utilize that money specifically to purchase more box fans for our friends and neighbors that need that extra cooling.”
