Plainclothes federal officers violently arrested a Ukrainian woman at San Francisco International Airport on Wednesday, according to a video that has gone viral on social media. Footage of the incident posted on social media shows a woman on the ground actively being detained by several men. The woman can be heard yelling in distress that they are choking her and that they are ICE officers seeking to deport her. “Stop, stop!” She can be heard yelling on the video. “Let me go. Please help me. Leave me alone!”The detention happened near what appear to be restaurants and shops inside the passenger terminal at SFO, and several witnesses can be heard pleading with police to stop. One person could be heard asking, “What are you arresting her for?”The video was posted by Richmond City Council Member Doria Robinson, who told the Chronicle she was first alerted to the arrest by the woman’s screams for help as she waited to board a flight to Seattle. She called what unfolded “unreal.”
Robinson saw two men accosting the woman at a shop across the concourse, and pulling her to the ground.
The men were not in uniform, Robinson said, and did not identify themselves. At first, she said she wondered if it was domestic violence.
