Leader of traveling religious group settled in Birmingham arrested on misdemeanor warrants

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – An arrest was made in connection to a traveling ministry which has been spotted in Birmingham and Walker County.

WBRC first covered the group on Dec. 30, 2025, when they were at a campsite in Empire off York Mountain Road and Blackberry Ridge Road. Reporters learned that a man, Phalander Boyd, who identified himself as “Lando,” had been staying there with his followers, who called him “Reverend Lamp.”

Lando told WBRC that he was the leader of a spiritual ministry called “More than a Profit/Prophet Ministries.” The group of people with Lando at that site in Walker County were from various parts of the U.S., including California, New York, Florida and Georgia…
