BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – A Birmingham woman said a potentially dangerous issue in her neighborhood was resolved within hours after she reached out to WBRC 6 On Your Side.
Robin Kirby-Gatto says she noticed a utility pole along 6th Avenue South was broken, with lines hanging dangerously low.
She said she first called Alabama Power about a week before, worried the sagging wires could pose a risk to passing vehicles and people nearby.
“As those wires dip, look how close that’s getting, and that’s pretty low for one of the trucks that go through here,” Kirby-Gatto said, showing the pole to WBRC. “There’s other trucks that are higher. You’ve got kids — this is a playground right here. There’s a lot of community here. There’s a bus stop. The buses travel right through here.”…
