Durham County deputies say a routine civil visit on Maple Street turned into a major drug bust early Friday, after a search of a home in the 500 block uncovered roughly 16 pounds of marijuana. Investigators report they also found an assortment of THC products, psilocybin mushrooms and a large sum of cash during the warrant search.
According to CBS17, deputies initially went to the address to serve civil papers tied to a child-custody transfer and said they detected a strong odor of marijuana, which led them to obtain a search warrant. The outlet identified the arrestee as 29-year-old Neil E. Driver and reported he was taken to the Durham County Detention Center.

Durham County Sheriff’s Office records also show Driver faces multiple felony counts, including possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver a controlled substance, trafficking in marijuana and maintaining a dwelling for controlled substances within 1,000 feet of a park and a school.
