CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — A downtown Chattanooga sinkhole has city engineers looking for answers, while crews work to keep the area safe and make repairs.
“I was really surprised to see it,” said Chris Fisher, a visitor to Chattanooga. “I wasn’t expecting this in downtown Chattanooga.”
The sinkhole on the corner of First and Cherry street is something Fisher says he’s used to seeing in his home of St. Louis.
“A little bit bigger than this one, but this is still pretty crazy,” said Fisher. “Those ones are all caused by water mains, so I’m not sure if there’s a water main thing here or if it’s just the rain.”…
