Temperatures getting even hotter over the weekend

Today: The hot temperatures are not slowing down. Colorado Springs is expected to hit it’s 10th day this month of being 90 degrees or warmer, with a high of 96. A shower and a small thunderstorm is likely for Colorado Springs at 5-7 pm. The Aspen Acres burn scar area and Pueblo will likely see more thunderstorms and heavy showers from 6-9 pm. The moisture is helpful for our hot temperatures and unsaturated grounds. However, heavy showers over the burn scar could lead to flash flooding.

The weekend is so warm there’s a heat advisory in place from 11 am until 9 pm Saturday and 10 am until 9 pm Sunday for El Paso, Pueblo, parts of Fremont County, along with a majority of the southeastern plains.

Tomorrow: Temperatures get even hotter for your Sunday with Colorado Springs possibly getting as warm as 98 degrees and Pueblo looking at hitting 103. There will be some small spotty showers and thunderstorms passing through I-25 beginning around 3 pm.
