Akron mayor tours Harmony House, nonprofit serving young adults facing housing insecurity

AKRON, Ohio (WOIO) – Akron Mayor Shammas Malik toured Harmony House on Monday, visiting the nonprofit’s offices and one of its housing programs on East Exchange Street alongside CEO Karla McDay.

Harmony House serves young people ages 18 to 24 who face housing insecurity, operating across 16 properties in the greater Akron area.

“These are opportunities for young people to come together, live together, share common areas, but have their own individual bedroom,” McDay said. “Provide safety and security for the youth in our community and a stable place for them to launch.”…
