LEAF RIVER, Ill. (WTVO) — A woman was arrested Saturday after Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies clocked her driving 121 mph in a 55 mpz zone.
According to the sheriff’s office, Laura Wheeler, 40, of Dixon, was stopped in the 7000 block of South Illinois Route 2 after a deputy recorded her traveling at high speed and disobeying a double yellow no-passing zone.
“At 121 miles per hour, you don’t just risk a speeding ticket—you risk lives. At that speed, your ability to react is dramatically reduced, stopping distances increase significantly, and even a minor mistake can have devastating consequences for you, your passengers, and innocent motorists,” the sheriff’s office wrote on Facebook…
