3 new statues unveiled at Temple Square as part of historic renovation

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — Three new statues have been installed at Temple Square as part of the historic renovation of the Salt Lake Temple as it enters its final stages and readies to open.

Crews recently installed “Jesus Christ with the Woman at the Well,” “Jesus Christ and Mary at the Tomb,” and “Jesus Christ Ordains Apostles,” which are statues that each depict the “life and ministry of Jesus Christ.”

In the coming weeks, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced that two additional statues will be added, bringing the total number of newly installed sculptures at Temple Square to 12.

All of these pieces of art are expected to add to the “renewed experience” that the Temple renovation and the refresh of its surrounding spaces are expected to bring to the faith community.
