‘Nobody should grieve alone’: BR mothers launch support group for parents who lost children to violence

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – No parent expects to bury their child. For Devosica Jackson, that unimaginable loss became reality in January when her 18-year-old daughter, Kassidy, was killed in a shooting.

More than six months later, Jackson is turning her grief into a mission to help other parents facing the same heartbreak.

In partnership with the nonprofit organization Pivot4Peace, Jackson is launching a support group for parents who have lost a child to violence. The group is designed to provide a safe space for grieving parents to find support, healing and hope from others who understand their pain…
