Ribbon-Cutting Marks Milestone During Zoo’s 121st Anniversary Year
Brandywine Zoo recently celebrated the opening of its new $2.5 million multi-species indoor and outdoor habitat, marking a major milestone for Delaware’s only zoo during a year filled with significant anniversaries and achievements.
Community leaders, donors, supporters, zoo staff, and elected officials gathered for the ribbon-cutting ceremony, which celebrated the completion of one of the zoo’s most ambitious capital projects to date. The habitat, funded through a combination of private and public donations, will house five different animal species while providing an enhanced environment for both the animals and visitors.
The State of Delaware contributed $600,000 toward the project. In addition, the BPG team donated its design services and played an instrumental role in bringing the new habitat to life through its partnership with the Delaware Zoological Society and Brandywine Zoo…
