Video shows Las Vegas teen on e-scooter colliding with school bus

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The family of a 17-year-old received $200,000 from the Clark County School District after the teenager suffered serious injuries in a school bus collision, according to court documents.

8 News Now obtained video that captured the collision from inside two school buses through a public records request. The crash happened earlier this year on the afternoon of Jan. 12 near Cimarron-Memorial High School.

The video appeared to show a school bus driving south on Tenaya Way. When the bus crosses Lake Mead Boulevard, two e-scooters appear on the right of the school bus, riding in a plaza parking lot. The scooters then exited the parking lot, rode into a bike lane, and disappeared from the frame.

8 News Now obtained another video from a second bus following behind, which provided a clearer view of the collision. The teen merged into a bike lane, crashed into the school bus, wobbled, and fell on the pavement…
