Lakeland online radio owner wants to get urban sounds back on the air

LAKELAND – On June 22, the “urban” was radio-silenced.

But Frankie Grover is working to get the sounds of old-school rhythm and blues, hip-hop, Latin, reggae, jazz, gospel, Southern soul and other roots music genres transmitting their grooves into cars, homes and businesses once again.

Grover is the CEO and owner of Kiss Radio Lakeland, a Central Florida online urban radio station (www.wgbcfm.com). In addition to his station’s online presence, he wants to bring WSIR 1490 AM back to the airwaves…
