A Sunset, Louisiana, man has been sentenced to more than 25 years in federal prison for a violent crime spree that included carjackings in Beaumont and Port Arthur, federal prosecutors announced Thursday.
Bracelon Armon Charles, 23, pleaded guilty to attempted carjacking, carjacking, Hobbs Act robbery and discharging a firearm during a crime of violence. U.S. District Judge Marcia A. Crone sentenced him to 308 months in federal prison on Thursday, according to U.S. Attorney Jay R. Combs.
According to court records, Charles and a juvenile carried out a series of violent crimes on Oct. 6-7, 2023.
