Omaha nonprofit offers free credit reviews to help residents on path to homeownership

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – An Omaha nonprofit spent the day helping people take the first step toward homeownership.

Members of Family Housing Advisory Services offered free, confidential credit reviews to help potential home buyers reach their goals.

Taking the first step

Erin Harwood was among those taking advantage of the free credit report checks. He and his wife want to buy a home for their family.

“We have three kids. The down payments they want is just crazy and if you don’t have good enough credit, not a lot of people want to lend to you. It’s just a hassle,” Harwood said…
