3 paddleboarders rescued on Lake Erie

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Three people, including two children, are safe after officials led a search and rescue operation on Lake Erie Wednesday night.

The Erie County Sheriff’s Office said the county’s helicopter, Air 1, helped find the missing individuals, who were paddleboarding, about 10 miles offshore near Long Beach, Ontario. They were located just after sunset.

A Canadian coast guard ship rescued all three paddleboarders after deputies shared their location.
