KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — A 19-year-old Battle Creek man will spend decades behind bars for the April 2025 killing of a security guard outside a Kalamazoo bar.
Last week, a judge sentenced Kaiden Cole to a minimum of 30 years. He was ineligible for life without the possibility of parole because of his age at the time of the killing. He was convicted in March of first-degree murder, felony firearm and carrying a concealed weapon in the killing of 27-year-old Montine Wiley, Jr., a gun violence advocate and father of two.
