KANNAPOLIS, N.C. (WDBJ) – On a day where everything started strong for the Salem Ridgeyaks, it was a VMI Keydet that ultimately sent Salem packing.
Grayson Fitzwater, who rewrote the record books at VMI until being drafted by the Chicago White Sox this summer, smashed his first home run as a professional in an 8-4 Kannapolis win over Salem.
Salem (43-58, 18-18 2nd half) jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead in the third inning, thanks to a two run HR from Franklin Primera, and a solo HR from Skylar King.
