Temperatures will be on the rise as we start the new week. Mornings have been cool and afternoons have not been too toasty the last couple of days but this is about to change. Highs today will not have much trouble reaching the 90s and 100s.
A cold front will begin to move into the area from the northwest this evening. This is where a few showers and storms will be possible. A strong to severe storm cannot be ruled out but a Marginal Risk of severe weather mainly includes only Southwest Nebraska.
On and off showers and storms will gradually include more of the area through the rest of the week. This periodic behavior will resemble stormy conditions that we experienced last week. Temperatures to the north and west after today will take a slight dip but there will not be much of a change in highs closer to Wichita.
