CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) — Mike A. Brown was arrested Friday after he reportedly was found to be in contempt of court for failing to provide documents in a case that was ongoing against him for multiple months.
Former North Charleston councilman Brown was reportedly arrested by the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office on July 31, just under one month after he was sentenced to two years in federal prison, followed by two years of probation for his role in a federal corruption investigation. He was also fined $10,000 and ordered to complete 100 hours of community service.
According to the obtained court documents Brown failed to provide to the court and to the Plaintiffs’ counsel, a complete sworn accounting of all income received by him during the past five years and all assets owned, held, or controlled by him, directly or indirectly…
