A Newport News woman has died as a result of a Sunday morning crash in Jefferson Avenue.
The crash happened at 9:35 a.m. at the intersection of Jefferson Avenue and Fort Eustis Boulevard, according to Newport News police. The preliminary investigation found a 72-year-old Newport News woman driving a Chevrolet Sonic was attempting to make a left turn when it was struck by a southbound Dodge Ram 1500 driven by a 35-year-old Newport News man.
