Mays Landing, N.J. — A Salem County man who was arrested for driving while intoxicated on the Atlantic City Expressway while having a loaded handgun has been sentenced to eight years in state prison.
36-year-old Akeem Statin of Penns Grove must serve five years before becoming eligible for parole.
On April 21st, he pleaded guilty to second-degree unlawful possession of a handgun and second-degree certain persons not to possess a firearm, a charge that reflects a prior conviction that bars him from owning or possessing any firearms.
