For four hours Tuesday evening, Fuller Family Park turns into part block party, part community fair and part meet-the-neighbors night, with some of those neighbors arriving in police cruisers, fire trucks and other emergency vehicles.
Worcester holds its 2026 National Night Out from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, at Fuller Family (YMCA) Park, 104 Murray Ave., joining communities across the country in the annual effort to bring residents and law enforcement together outside the circumstances in which they might ordinarily meet.
The free event’s got bounce houses, horse rides, a petting zoo, face painting and Touch-a-Truck activities, along with first responders and local organizations. Food trucks also pepper the site with food available for purchase.
And it could be a sizable crowd. About 1,500 to 2,000 people attended Worcester’s National Night Out last year, according to Worcester Police Officer John Alers, with organizers hoping to top 2,000 this year…
