UPDATE:
Just hours after announcing an arrest in the homicide of 15-year-old Samuel Miley, Lafayette Police have issued a significant update to the investigation.
According to investigators, detectives determined the 15-year-old juvenile arrested earlier Monday was not criminally involved in the shooting. As a result, the arrest warrant was recalled, and the juvenile was released from police custody.
Police say the homicide investigation remains active and detectives continue working to identify those responsible. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Lafayette Police Department or Lafayette Crime Stoppers at (337) 232-TIPS.
