Weekend accidents leave officials calling for change on Oahu’s roadways

HONOLULU (KHON2) — Multiple accidents over the weekend across Oahu’s roadways resulted in backed-up traffic for many, and left Honolulu EMS resources stretched thin.

“There were so many different types of crashes that kept our EMS so busy over the weekend,” said Shayne Enright, Honolulu EMS spokesperson. “We had the crash that involved the pickup truck that we sent almost one-third of our fleet resources to.”

EMS reported 11 traffic-related responses on Saturday, and 13 on Sunday…
