Hot today before gradual cooling

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – It is a noticeably warmer morning with wake-up temperatures in the 70s, and the day ahead will follow suit with highs in the upper 90s to around 100 degrees. However, the humidity will remain on the low side so feels like temps won’t be a concern. While a stray storm cannot be ruled out today, especially this morning, most areas will stay dry.

A cold front will begin its journey across Kansas later today bringing cooler temperatures, showers, and storms back to the state. Temperatures will tumble into the 70s and 80s across northwest Kansas while areas farther southeast, including the Wichita area slide into the upper 80s and lower 90s.

A few showers and storms will slowly move northwest to southeast across the state late tonight through Wednesday afternoon. While widespread severe weather is unlikely, a few strong storms cannot be ruled out. Additional storms are possible on Thursday, especially along and south of Highway 400…
