KYTC wants your input on how to make Lexington’s North Broadway safer. What to know

The state’s transportation agency is seeking public feedback on ways to make a vital Lexington corridor safer.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is looking at the stretch of North Broadway from Main Street to Kingston Road, just outside Interstate 75. The agency wants to specifically focus on improvements aligned with complete streets principles, making the roadway safer for drivers, pedestrians and cyclists.

According to KYTC, there were 1,660 crashes on this stretch of North Broadway from 2020 to 2024. Six of those were fatal, and 484 likely caused an injury. In the same period, 42 accidents involved a pedestrian and 11 involved a cyclist…
