Update: State education department says Sac City can’t appeal county’s rescission

Sacramento City Unified School District is set to hold a special meeting Tuesday evening at the Serna Center to consider a resolution authorizing an appeal to the state superintendent, raising questions about the district’s legal basis for challenging the county office’s action.

With attention now turning to whether state law gives the district a way to challenge the rescission, the state Department of Education says it does not.
