18-year-old pleads guilty in failed drive-by shooting in Syracuse that killed friend

Syracuse, N.Y. — An 18 year old admitted Tuesday that he took part in a failed drive-by shooting that led to the accidental death of a friend in 2024.

Uzziah Murray pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter in the fatal shooting of Deron McGee Jr. He was offered a 20-year prison sentence in exchange for his plea.
