Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) – Downtown Mexican restaurant Hombre y Lobo will shut down Saturday, October 3. The restaurant, which is a short walk away from Sahlen Field on Swan Street, opened five years ago. In an Instagram post the management team said “We’re honored to have cooked for you and are honored to have had you in our home.”

D’Avolio, a restaurant and gourmet food retailer with locations in Williamsville and East Amherst, has opened a new retail location at its 1150 Wehrle Drive headquarters in Williamsville. A grand opening celebration is planned for Thursday, August 20.
The NFTA Transit Police Department is recruiting new officers as its 2026 entrance exam is now open. Applications and a study guide are available at the NFTA’s website. Applications are due August 28 along with a $25 check or money order.
