Dangerous heat will roast California’s Central Valley this weekend

Northern California’s hottest stretch so far this year is about to turn up a notch.

Weather models indicate this weekend will be even hotter than last. Specifically, the Sacramento Valley is expected to bake to dangerous levels.

High temperatures between 106 and 112 degrees are forecast Friday through Sunday from Redding to Stockton, with Saturday likely to be the hottest day. Sacramento may approach 110, which would be among the 20 hottest days in the city since the 1940s. Most cities will be 5 to 7 degrees shy of all-time maximum temperature records, but could break same-day records…
