Boat fire damages vessel, dock in Grand Island

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — The Erie County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fire that severely damaged a boat in Grand Island on Wednesday, officials said.

Authorities received a 911 call around 12:30 p.m. for a fire at the Buffalo Launch Club. Officials said one boat was “totaled” in the fire. An additional boat and the dock also suffered damage.

The U.S. Coast Guard said no injuries were reported and that no people were aboard the boat at the time. The sheriff’s office Marine Unit and Fire Investigation Unit are investigating the fire.
