Veterans experiencing homelessness in the Battle Creek area are receiving support through projects aimed at improving temporary housing and helping them furnish permanent homes.
Ford is supporting efforts by Haven of Rest Ministries and Veterans Helping Veterans SWMI Foundation, according to a community announcement. The assistance is intended to help veterans move from homelessness to stable housing through facility improvements, support services and access to household necessities.
The investment at Haven of Rest Ministries funded bathroom renovations in the organization’s Veterans in Progress program, which serves veterans referred by the Battle Creek VA Medical Center.
