The medical examiner has released the cause of death of a 4-year-old girl who was left in a van in Valley Village in May after a school carpool drop-off.
The cause of death was environmental hyperthermia — the body’s absorption of heat, causing a dangerous rise in core temperature — after the girl was left in an enclosed automobile, according to the medical examiner. The manner of death was accidental.
