Roy honored as oldest living retired La. State Trooper

Baton Rouge – Louisiana State Police (LSP) marked a historic milestone as it celebrated its 90th anniversary, gathering at LSP Headquarters on July 28 to honor nine decades of service. The event brought together current and retired Troopers, their families, friends, and law enforcement partners from local, state, and federal agencies to reflect on a legacy that spans generations.

A highlight of the celebration was the presence of Retired Sergeant Maurice “Bud” Roy of Parks, who was honored as the oldest living retired Louisiana State Trooper at age 94.

A Cadet Class 39 alumnus, Roy served the citizens of Louisiana for 22 years before retiring as a Sergeant from Troop I in 1984…
