Charleston County drug court celebrates two graduates, offering second chances

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — After months of treatment, testing and weekly court appearances, two people graduated from Charleston County’s Drug Court program on Wednesday marking the latest success stories in a program that has offered eligible nonviolent offenders an alternative to incarceration for nearly 30 years.

The Charleston County Drug Court is designed for people struggling with addiction and aims to break cycles of recidivism by pairing participants with treatment and support services while holding them to strict accountability standards.
