MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – We’re giving you the First Alert to more scattered storms today before a drier weather pattern sets up for the weekend.
Today
It’s another humid start as you step out the door. Make sure the kids are dressed comfortable at the bus stop this morning. If you have any plans today, make sure you have the First Alert weather app downloaded.
The high humidity will fuel another round of scattered showers and storms later today, likely starting midday and last through the afternoon and into the evening hours.
The latest data suggests that storms will begin to develop around lunchtime and slowly push more inland as we head throughout the afternoon. While not everyone will see the rain today, any storm that develops will have the potential for heavy rain and frequent lightning.
Temperatures will climb into the mid-upper 80s today, providing for another steamy forecast. Obviously, if you see storms, expect your temperatures to be a couple degrees cooler.
Friday
Drier air, especially in the upper-levels of the atmosphere will begin to work into the Carolinas, bringing a noticeable drop in the storm coverage for Friday afternoon.
While showers and storms are still possible, we expect the coverage to be more isolated with a steamy forecast…
