Few strong to severe storms possible tonight

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – It is a relatively quiet start to the day across Kansas, but showers and storms return the forecast this evening and tonight. The best chances will be along and south of a Dodge City to Salina line and while strong storms with small hail and gusty wind are possible, widespread severe weather is unlikely.

Afternoon temperatures will remain near normal today with most of the state in the lower to middle 90s. The hotter weather conditions return tomorrow as temperatures top-out in the middle to upper 90s and the humidity makes it feel a degree or two higher.

The heat dome moves in the weekend and will stay parked over the state for several days. We have issued a Storm Team 12 Weather Alert Saturday through Tuesday as temperatures top-out between 100 and 105 degrees.
